We’ll be exploring a beautiful slot canyon hike (1.5 miles) at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, and then will visit a real working movie ranch. HISTORIC & CULTURAL
We’ll visit two locations near to the business-end of the Camino Real, or Royal Road, the 1,600-mile historic trading route between Mexico City and Santa Fe. First, Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument which is a picturesque white volcanic rock formation holy to Cochiti Pueblo people on whose reservation it is located. And then we’ll visit a working movie ranch which has featured in Hollywood movies for more than 50 years.
SCENIC / MOVIE SET & LOCATIONS
Roughly 100 film and television projects have been made at these sites — this is the level of scenic beauty present. Visit locations used in Easy Rider, Young Guns, Godless, Silverado, 3:10 to Yuma, John Carpenter’s Vampires, The Cheyenne Social Club, The Lazarus Man, and many more.
